Manitoba Minister of Education and Training Kelvin Goertzen declared 2019 the year of international education in the province. Manitoba is seeking to attract more foreign students. The minister sees international education enriching the province, allowing its citizens to develop a global network and providing economic opportunities.
The Manitoba Council for International Education, in cooperation with the provincial government, has been working to attract international students. The Council has expressed satisfaction with the government’s announcement that 2019 is International Education Year in the province.
